Itinerary

Welcome to Sri Lanka! 

Arrive at Bandaranayake international airport and transfer to Negombo.

Get ready for a breathtaking wildlife tour, with your first destination being Negombo – a vibrant fishing town on Sri Lanka’s Western Coast. After a short drive you will arrive at your beachfront hotel where you can relax and unwind after your journey by the serene coastline.

You will have an early English breakfast before heading towards Willpattu National Park.

Wilpattu National Park is the largest and one of the oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. The most unique feature in the Willpattu National Park  is the presence of nearly 60 'villus' (natural, sand-rimmed lakes) which are scattered throughout the park and attract a wide variety of wildlife.

It is one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see the country's "Big Three": the Sri Lankan Leopard, the Asian Elephant, and the Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, along with numerous species of birds, deer, and crocodiles.

On your way to Wilpattu, you’ll stop at the Anawilundawa bird sanctuary. It’s a unique ecological setting that provides the perfect environment for nesting and breeding for hundreds of bird species.

After breakfast at the hotel you will proceed to Willpattu National Park and spend a full day on safari exploring Willpattu. If luck is on your side, you may spot the majestic Sri Lankan elephant, elusive leopard, sloth bear, spotted deer, buffalo, and many other magnificent creatures that call this wilderness home.

After your thrilling adventure, enjoy a BBQ dinner and overnight stay in the tented safari camp.

Day 4 :
Sigiriya

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a journey to Sigiriya. Upon arrival at Sigiriya, you'll enjoy a wonderful cultural village tour, exploring the beautiful countryside. It will be a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique local culture and lifestyle of the Sri Lankan people. The tour will commence with a Tuk Tuk ride followed by a catamaran boat journey across the lake, culminating at the farmer’s house where you will partake in a Sri Lankan curry cooking demonstration and savor authentic countryside cuisine. Sigiriya is a stunning 5th-century rock fortress and palace complex rising majestically from the Sri Lankan plains. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and often called the "Eighth Wonder of the World," it is a testament to ancient urban planning and engineering. The climb to the top offers a journey past ancient frescoes, a massive stone lion's paws, and a mirror wall covered in ancient graffiti, culminating in a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.

Following a leisurely breakfast you’ll enjoy a thrilling safari at Minneriya National Park. This park is renowned globally for hosting "The Gathering," the largest known meeting of wild Asian elephants. This spectacular event occurs primarily during the dry season, when hundreds of elephants congregate around the shores of the ancient Minneriya Tank to drink and feed on the exposed grass, providing an unparalleled wildlife viewing experience through jeep safaris. The park's diverse habitats, including grasslands, wetlands, and forests, also support other mammals such as spotted deer, water buffalo, and a variety of birds and reptiles.

After the morning safari in MInneriya National Park you’ll transfer to Wasgamuwa to visit the Wasgamuwa Eco Center. The Wasgamuwa Web Of Life Eco Center near Wasgamuwa National Park operates as a dedicated organization and resort focused on biodiversity conservation, research, and sustainable practices. It’s spotting diverse bird species (including endemic and migratory ones), observing other local wildlife in the surrounding area, and taking guided nature walks and hikes.

After an early breakfast you’ll have a scenic journey from Wasgamuwa to Nuwara Eliya. On the way to Nuwara Eliya you'll be mesmerising the dramatic transformation across Sri Lanka’s climate zones.

Upon arriving in Nuwara Eliya, you’ll check in at your hotel to relax before setting off on a Nuwara Eliya city tour. That includes the iconic Gregory Lake, lush tea plantations, Pink Post Office, colonial buildings and the charming landscape of misty mountains.

After an early breakfast, at 6.30 am you will start your adventure to the exciting Horton Plains.

Horton Plains National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, known for its unique ecosystem of montane grassland and cloud forest at over 2,100 meters altitude. It is a vital catchment area for major rivers and a haven for endemic wildlife. The park's main draw is the incredible 9 km circular trek leading to World's End, a stunning sheer cliff with an 880-meter drop, and the picturesque Baker's Falls, offering a truly wild and memorable hiking experience.

Following the track, you will proceed to Udawalawe with a stop to visit the beauty of the Rawana Falls.

Day 8 :
Udawalawe

Right after breakfast, you will set-off to the Udawalawe National Park for a thrilling jeep safari.

Udawalawe National Park is one of Sri Lanka's finest wildlife reserves, globally famous for its reliably high concentration of Sri Lankan Elephants. Centered around the large Udawalawe Reservoir, the park's open grasslands and scrub jungle make it an ideal location for easy elephant sightings year-round. It is also an important birding area and is home to water buffalo, wild boar, spotted deer, and the occasional leopard. On your thrilling open-vehicle, you will have excellent photographic opportunities.

Next, you’ll head to Yala, where you can relax for the rest of the day in a tented safari camp.

Your wildlife adventure continues today with an early morning 4X4 jeep safari in Yala National Park. Breakfast packets will be provided. 

Yala National Park is Sri Lanka's most famous and second-largest national park, renowned globally for having one of the highest densities of leopards in the world, making it a premier destination to spot these magnificent big cats. This diverse park, which features a blend of scrublands, forests, grasslands, and wetlands bordering the Indian Ocean, is also home to significant populations of Sri Lankan Elephants, Sloth Bears, crocodiles, and over 200 species of birds, all viewed via exciting 4x4 jeep safaris.

After the full day of exploration, you’ll return to the safari camp for BBQ dinner under the night sky, followed by a comfortable overnight stay in your tent.

After breakfast at your tented safari camp in Yala, you’ll start to proceed to Sinharaja Rain Forest to explore.

The Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a vital UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, recognized as Sri Lanka's last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. This dense, hilly, and exceptionally humid ecosystem is a biological hotspot, home to a high concentration of endemic species, particularly birds, amphibians, reptiles, and endemic trees. It is famous for its mixed-species bird flocks and offers a truly immersive nature experience, requiring guided treks through its muddy trails to discover its unique, untouched biodiversity.

Day 11 :
Mirissa

After breakfast you’ll start heading to Mirissa, which is a tropical paradise on the southern coast Sri Lanka

Mirissa is a beautiful, laid-back fishing village on Sri Lanka's Southern Coast, known for its iconic crescent beach, relaxed surf spots. It serves as the primary gateway for whale watching, offering spectacular boat trips into the Indian Ocean. Mirissa is recognized globally as one of the best locations to observe the majestic blue whale, sperm whales, fin whales, and playful pods of dolphins.

Rest of the day you can relax in your beach front cozy hotel including ayurvedic spa treatment.

Day 12 :
Galle

Before heading to Galle, you’ll enjoy an early morning breakfast. Meanwhile your boat is getting ready for a whale watching tour with a beautiful sunrise.
